Chargesheet filed against 16 accused in 3 blast cases
Saturday, July 19 2003 17:02 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: Police on July 19 filed chargesheets against 16 accused in the Mulund, Vile Parle and Mumbai Central blast cases charging them with offences under Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) and other Acts.

All the accused, suspected to be members of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), were charged with Section 120-b and Section 121 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) which deal with conspiracy and waging war against the nation respectively.

As none of the accused were present in the special court where the chargesheets were filed, copies of the same would be served to them in jail. They will be produced before the court on July 22 for remand.
