Sunday, July 20 2003 18:16 Hrs (IST)
Raipur: Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani on July 20 said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would continue
to focus on security, development and social harmony as its plank in the coming general elections.
Addressing party workers, Advani declared that India had not been able to convert "swaraj"
(independence) into "suraj" (good governance).
"Apna Rajya aa gaya lekin acha Rajya nahi hai" (Our own governance came but not good governance),
he said, adding the party would now work towards ensuring security, development and social harmony
for the population.
Advani said the 21st Century would belong to India unlike the past century which was the century of
Britain, United States and Japan.
