Tuesday, July 22 2003 16:36 Hrs (IST)

Bangalore: Pakistani girl Noor Fatima, who underwent open heart surgery at a cardiac speciality hospital on the outskirts of Bangalore a week ago, is progressing well in the step-down unit, from where she is likely to be moved to the ward in another two to three days.

"Noor, who is still in the step-down unit, needs very little oxygen now. We are trying to wean her off from everything and in all probability she will be shifted to the ward in another two to three days," Dr Devi Shetty, cardiac surgeon and chairman of Narayana Hrudayalaya, said.

Two and a half year-old Noor, who came with her parents in the first trip of the resumed Lahore-Delhi bus service in Delhi on July 11, underwent the operation for ventricular septal defect with pulmonary stenosis.
