Four arrested in Andhra in Pandya murder case

Hyderabad: Four persons, including one from Karimnagar district, have been arrested from Andhra
Pradesh for their alleged involvement in the killing of former Gujarat Home Minister Haren Pandya,
police said on July 24.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials from Delhi, who arrived in Hyderabad on July 23, nabbed
two persons from Saidabad area and one from Mallepally locality, police sources said.
Mohammad Mansur Siddiqui and Rahim (both from Saidabad) and Abdul Samad of Mallepally were
produced before a local court on July 23 evening to get transit remand to take them to Ahmedabad,
police added.
Meanwhile, the Imam of Idgah Masjid of Ahmedpura locality in Jagityal town, nearly 50 km from
Karimnagar, was arrested by special police from Gujarat for his alleged involvement in Pandya's
killing.
Syed Akbar (45) was arrested on July 23 and produced before a court there for transit remand, police
said, adding he was then taken to Gujarat for further investigation.
A native of Regunta village in Mallapur mandal, Syed Akbar was also involved in several other offences
earlier, police added.
