VHP for imposition of President's Rule in J&K
Friday, July 25 2003 11:11 Hrs (IST)
Patna: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on July 24 demanded imposition of President's rule in Jammu
and Kashmir and handing over the trouble-torn state to the Army to flush out terrorists.
The terrorist attacks on Vaishno Devi pilgrims and an Army camp at Akhnoor recently had exposed the
hollowness of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's healing touch policy to deal
with the problem of terrorism, VHP national secretary A Raghavullu told reporters.
The state must be brought under President's rule and handed over to the Army to root out terrorists, he
said.
On VHP international general secretary Pravin Togadia's proposed visit to Patna on August 15,
Raghavullu clarified that there was no programme of "trishul diksha" during his visit. He would take part
in a training programme for the VHP volunteers.
