Minister's son who intruded Bihar House sent to jail

Patna: The drunken son of a Bihar minister, who intruded into the state Legislative Council and
occupied for quite some time the seat of a Congress member in the Upper House, was on July 26
remanded to judicial custody by the Council chairman Jabir Hussain and sent to high-security Beur jail.
Vijay Ram, who was taken into custody by police July 25 night, was produced before Hussain, who
sentenced him to jai custody till July 31 to be lodged in Beur jail.
Hussain had on July 25 asked the state government to ensure arrest of Vijay and produce him on July
26 after he intruded into the Council in an inebriated state.
On his production, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ramchandra Purve read out the contents of the
chargesheet against Vijay and urged the Chair to remand Vijay to judicial custody till July
31.
The chairman read out the proposal put by Purve, which was passed by the Houses by voice-
vote.
In a daring breach of security, Vijay had on July 25 sneaked into the Council and occupied the seat of a
Congress member Sharda Prasad Singh.
