'Sixth Sense' star is best child actor of all time

Washington: 'Sixth Sense' child star Haley Joel Osment has beaten the likes of the legendary Judy Garland and 'Home Alone' star Macaulay Culkin to emerge as the greatest child movie actor of all time in a poll of 3,000 film fans conducted by video and DVD superstore 'Blockbuster'.

Osment, 15, received an Oscar nomination in the best supporting category for his outstanding performance in the 1999 supernatural thriller 'The Sixth Sense'.

According to 'Teen Hollywood', 'Lassie' won the top honours in the favourite animal movie star category. It was one of four dogs in the Top 10 list.

The tiny piglet star of 'Babe' and 'Willy', the three-tonne killer whale from the 1993 film 'Free Willy', followed Lassie.

Others in the list include 'Hooch' from the Tom Hanks-starrer 'Turner and Hooch', 'Beethoven', the St Bernard from the 1992 film of the same name and 'Lou the Beagle' from the hit comedy 'Cats and Dogs'.
