Lucknow: Condition of president of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas Mahant Ram Chandra Paramhans Das is "critical" and he has been put on ventilator, hospital sources said on July 26.

"Mahant's condition is critical and he has been shifted to the intensive care unit and put on ventilator," sources at Sanjay Gandhi PGI said.

Doctors had recently detected stones in the gall bladder of the Mahant, the sources said, adding he was to be operated upon on July 26, but it had to be shelved owing to his ill health.

A team of doctors were attending on the Mahant, the sources added.
