MCC goes berserk, blasts police station in Bihar
Saturday, July 26 2003 17:55 Hrs (IST)

Bettiah: Activists of the banned Maoist Communist Centre (MCC) exploded dynamite to destroy the newly constructed building of Govardhanana police station along Indo-Nepal borer in Bihar's West Champaran district on July 25 night.

Police said none was injured in the attack as police personnel had not been deployed at the newly constructed building.

The police said about 50 heavily armed MCC activists blew up the police building and while retreating raised anti-police slogans and left Naxalite literature.

The borders of the district had been sealed and combing operations launched to nab the MCC ultras, the police said.
