M'shtra govt convenes high-level security meet

Mumbai: The Maharashtra government is holding a high-level disaster management meeting at the
Chief Minister's residence on July 29 after three persons were killed and 42 injured in the powerful bomb
blast that ripped off a BEST bus near Ghatkopar telephone exchange on July 28.
Police said about six people are in critical condition and are being treated at a hospital.
Thirty-two people including two women and one five-year-old child are undergoing treatment at Rajawadi
municipal hospital near Ghatkopar.
One person has been admitted at Agarwal Nursing Home at Mulund where they are undergoing
treatment in a private clinic at Ghatkopar.
Although the preliminary reports of the nature of the bomb indicated high- intensity gelatin stick, detailed
investigations are being undertaken by the state forensic lab under its tatkal programme.
The results will be available by July 29 evening, director, forensic lab, Dr Rukmani Krishnamoorthy,
said.
After the blast, Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said they had given a call for a Mumbai
bandh on July 30. The decision was taken by Sena chief Bal Thackeray and BJP vice president
Gopinath Munde.
