UN to pay India over $ 21 mn as peacekeeping dues
Wednesday, July 30 2003 08:08 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: The United Nations will pay India $ 21.52 million as dues for peacekeeping duties around the world up to July 11 2003.

Minister of State for External Affairs Digvijay Singh gave this information to the Lok Sabha on July 30.

He, however, said this amount did not include amounts accrued since January 1, 2003 as the UN takes a minimum period of six months to process dues for current missions. He said the settlement of dues was a continuous process and the country had received $ 199,344,601.95 from the UN in the past five years.
