Noor Fatima discharged from hospital; Leaves for Delhi
Thursday, July 31 2003 10:27 Hrs (IST)
Bangalore: Pakistani girl Noor Fatima was discharged from the hospital early on July 31 morning, 17
days after she underwent an open-heart surgery at a super speciality hospital on the outskirts of
Bangalore city.
Two-and-a-half-year old Noor left with her parents Nadeem Sajjad and Tayyaba Nadeem by a private
airlines flight to Delhi, from where they are expected to board the Delhi-Lahore bus on August 1 on their
way back home in Pakistan.
"Noor is normal and stable," sources at the Narayana Hrudayalaya where she underwent the operation
to plug a hole in her heart on July 15, said.
The Pakistani girl came to India on July 11 in the resumed "dosti" bus service and had generated an
outpouring of goodwill on both sides of Indo-Pak border.
Noor's father Nadeem Sajjad said Noor would be on medication for three months and the follow up would
be done with her paediatric cardiologist Masood Sadiq in Lahore.
He said he and Sadiq would be in touch with Dr Rajesh Sharma, paediatric cardiac surgeon who led the
team that performed the surgery on Noor.
