Ayodhya: Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas vice president Nritya Gopal Das was on August 1 unanimously elected acting president of the Trust.

A meeting of the Trust members at the Digambar Akhara elected Das as the acting president following the death of Mahant Ramachandra Paramhans Das, who was the head of the Nyas.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) president Ashok Singhal said the election of Das was unanimous and hoped he would carry forward Ram temple movement with renewed vigour and enthusiasm.

Das said he had been entrusted with a big responsibility and exuded confidence that he would be able to help fulfil the dream of Paramhans.
