Two jawans, civilian injured in Pak shelling in JK

Jammu: Pakistani troops shelled areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch and Rajouri sectors of Jammu and Kashmir injuring two personnel and a civilian, official sources said.

The heavy shelling, which began on July 31 night continued on August 1 in Noushera, Janghar, Romlidhara, Jallas, Salotri, Laam, Bhawani, Chokichora and Sabzian areas of the two sectors, the sources said.

Two personnel Dharam Singh and Karan Singh were injured in the shelling at Romlidhara and one civilian Mohammad Sharief at Jallas, they said.

Indian troops retaliated and an exchange of fire took place between the two sides.

Pakistani rangers also fired along the international border in R S Pura and Samba areas of Jammu frontier to disrupt the ongoing fencing work by the Border Security Force (BSF), the sources said.
