13 Dostum soldiers killed in Afghanistan blast

Kabul: Thirteen soldiers loyal to Abdul Rashid Dostum, a warlord and Defence adviser to President Hamid Karzai, were killed and 21 hurt in an explosion while they were loading weapons on a truck, police sources reported on August 4.

The incident happened on August 3 evening at Aqcha, a district of Jozjan province not far from the border with Uzbekistan, a senior police officer said.

He said all Dostum soldiers were loading weapons during a disarmament drive in the province.
