Four militants, 'baratee' killed in Doda, Poonch

Jammu: Security forces on August 4 shot dead four Pakistani militants in Doda and Poonch districts,
while a member of a marriage party was killed by militants in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir,
according to official sources.
On specific information about the presence of militants in Surankote forests of Poonch district, security
forces cordoned the area and launched a search operation early on August 4, sources said.
In the ensuing encounter, two Pakistani militants were killed on the spot. One AK rifle, four magazines,
120 rounds, four grenades and two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered, he said.
In a separate encounter in Rariyalkadi forest of Banihal area in Doda district on August 4 afternoon, two
Pakistani militants were killed and two AK rifles, two magazines, 154 rounds, five hand grenades and two
IEDs were recovered from them, the sources said.
The operation was still on when the reports last came from the area, the sources said, adding four
militants were still in the cordon.
In another incident, militants struck a marriage party in Shanoo area of Arnas forest belt in Udhampur
district on August 3 night and killed a member of the marriage party, the sources said.
The killed person has been identified as Master Mohammad Yousef. However, no one else from the
marriage party was injured. Militants also set on fire the house of Naib-Sarpanch in village Thuskund in
Udhampur on August 4.
