Stanford alumni network meet to begin in Bangalore

Bangalore: India's silicon valley will play host from August 6 to the first ever alumni meet of Stanford
university, the "Mecca of technological excellence", in which Indian alumni will come together to network
with their peers.
Infotech Czar Wipro Chairman Azim Premji, a distinguished alumni will set the agenda for the next two
days on August 6 and 7 in which several of the over 1,000 strong alumni would brainstorm at a
conference on "leading the world: building a technology tiger".
"It is basically an opportunity to network with our alumni," Stanford Asia Technology Initiative (SATI),
business development director-India Nishant Vijay Berlia told reporters.
Some of the noted Indian alumni include Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani, Forbes Marshall Director
Dr Naushad Forbes, Member of Parliament Jyotiraditya Sindhia and Nadir Godrej.
"Bound by a common factor and each being an achiever in their own field, the meet would serve as an
ideal platform for them to gain perspective of trends and new ideas, which Stanford is all about," Berlia
said.
Infosys Chairman and Chief Mentor N R Narayana Murthy, Stanford provost for under graduation
education Dr John Bravman, Biocon India Chairman Dr Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, IITB Director Sadagopan
and Mckinsey and Co Managing Director Ranjit Pandit will address a SATI global entrepreneurship
conference on August 7.
