Car bomb kills 11 outside Jordan's Baghdad Embassy

Baghdad: A car bomb killed 11 people and injured 57 when it exploded on August 7 outside Jordan's Embassy in Baghdad, a policeman at the scene said.

Police officer Munzer Jaffa said a Kia pickup truck exploded at around 11.00 am local time, adding that at least nine people were killed.

A more senior police officer, who would not give his name, confirmed it was a car bomb.

US troops later roped off the area, stationing tanks at the scene.

Witness Riad Saleh said he saw "a number of bodies."
