Thursday, August 7 2003 19:27 Hrs (IST)

Islamabad: Indian High Commissioner-designate Shiv Shankar Menon is likely to present his credentials to Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on August 9, official sources said.

The date for presenting the credentials has been conveyed to the Indian High Commission, the sources said.

This would formally mark the restoration of full diplomatic ties between India and Pakistan after a gap of 20 months.

Pakistan High Commissioner, Aziz Ahmed Khan has already assumed his charge at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.

India recalled its Envoy to Pakistan and expelled Pakistan's Envoy after the attack on Parliament in December 2001.
