Locals lynch 9 PW naxals in Jharkhand village
Friday, August 8 2003 18:17 Hrs (IST)

Jamshedpur: Nine People's War naxalites including two of their women cadres were lynched and two others seriously injured by residents of Lango village of Jharkhand's East Singhbhum district early August 8.

Official sources said three hardcore extremists from Bihar, West Bengal and Orissa were among those killed.

The injured were hospitalised.

Eight guns, four grenades and as many carbines besides huge ammunition had been recovered from them.

Inspector General (Zonal) Rajiv Kumar said the militants might have come to take revenge of an incident in which members of a Nagarik Suraksha Samittee had repulsed an extremist attack on Dumaria police station killing three ultras two months ago.
