Tiruchirappalli: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) volunteers on August 11 used several bottles of coca cola to clean basins, bathroom closets, urinals to protest against the soft drink which allegedly contained pesticides according to the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE).

They brought the ceramic articles to C N Annadurai round about where they were cleaned.

The protesters, led by Ilan Kumaran Sampath, the state secretary of the BJP, later broke the empty bottles.
