Tuesday, August 12 2003 20:40 Hrs (IST)
Mumbai: The Mumbai High Court on August 12 restrained the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC)
employees from going on strike from August 13, but directed the management to conduct an inquiry into
the mishap involving the crash of a helicopter and award compensation to the victims.
Hearing a petition filed by ONGC, Justice V G Palshikar and Justice Nishita Mhatre said reconciliation
proceedings were pending before the Labour Commissioner and hence the employees should refrain
from going on strike.
The judges were hearing a petition filed by ONGC, which prayed for restraining the workers from going
on strike.
