Uproar over CVC report issue; LS, RS adjourned
Wednesday, August 13 2003 11:50 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Lok Sabha on August 13 plunged into turmoil over Defence Ministry's refusal to provide the report of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) to Public Accounts Committee (PAC) for probing Kargil arms purchases, forcing its adjournment for an hour.

Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 14:00 hours (IST) over the CVC report denial issue.

As soon as the House met, members mourned the martyrs of Quit India movement, whose anniversary fell on August 9.

The House also observed a minute's silence as a mark of respect for the 27 people who died in a helicopter crash in the Arabian Sea on August 11.
