No-trust motion a blessing in disguise for govt: Advani
Thursday, August 14 2003 23:16 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Exuding confidence about the cohesiveness of ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Centre, Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani on August 14 night said the Opposition-sponsored no- confidence motion would provide an "excellent opportunity" to the government to highlight its achievements.

"This comes as an excellent opportunity to the government to explain its achievements which Congress governments could not do in over four decades of their rule," Advani told reporters at a function organised to mark the first anniversary of Alliance Air's inflight magazine 'Darpan'.

Normally, the government gets the chance to publicise its achievements during discussion on the motion of thanks on the President's address to Parliament, but the no-confidence motion would provide it with the same in an elaborate manner.
