Wagah: Returning from an eventful three-day goodwill trip to Pakistan, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)
president Laloo Prasad Yadav on August 13 said time had come to bury the past for better relationship
between India and Pakistan, since masses of the both the nations are quite eager for friendship.
"I'm of the opinion that India must go for early friendship with Pakistan besides resuming early rail and
air link with the neighbouring country, as it is the need of the masses of both the nations. Heaven is not
going to fall if the friendship between the two nations matured," said Yadav in his trademark aggressive
style after crossing back into India at the Wagah check post on August 13 evening.
The people of Pakistan, he said, were dead against war and they want peace, friendship and good
relationship with India.
All political parties in Pakistan held a unanimous view and favoured good friendship with India while
burying all bitter experiences of the past.
In an apparent reference to the United States, the former Bihar Chief Minister said, "At no stage will we
allow the big power to dictate its own terms and conditions to India for its vested interest."
He said America wanted to dictate its terms to India and Pakistan but we will try to foil its "nefarious bid".
