'Soft drink row won't affect FI flow in India'
Friday, August 15 2003 11:41 Hrs (IST)

Kolkata: Outgoing British High Commissioner in India Sir Rob Young on August 14 said he did not think that the ongoing controversy over Coca Cola and Pepsi would affect the flow of foreign investments in India.

''I don't think so,'' Sir Rob told newsmen when asked his opinion on whether the controversy over the two mega soft drink brands were likely to affect foreign investment flow to the country.

Stating that Europe and the US had also witnessed such controversies, he said that it had to be seen how the controversy ended up in India.

''However, this is not an issue that concerns Britain,'' he said.

Earlier, the British envoy met the West Bengal Chief Minister on a farewell call.
