Militants chop off villager's head in J&K

Jammu: Militants chopped off the head of a villager in Poonch district even as an Al-Badr commander
and a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan were killed in separate incidents in Rajouri and Udhampur
districts of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said on August 15.
A group of armed militants intercepted a shop owner, abdul kareem, in Hari village of Surankote tehsil of
Poonch district on August 14 night and abducted him, they said.
Karim was severely tortured throughout the night, they said and later his head and limbs were chopped
off. The body parts were recovered on August 15 on the outskirts of the village, they said.
Militants fired on a BSF patrol party in Mahore forest belt during an operation from a hilltop, the sources
said, adding a company jawan identified as Constable Vishwajeet Sahia was killed.
He said the militants, however, managed to escape.
In a fierce gunbattle, security forces shot dead an Al-Badr area commander in Keri forest belt of Rajouri
district early August 15, the sources said.
