Case against Karunanidhi for instigating employees

Chennai: The city police on August 15 afternoon filed a case against former chief minister and DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) president M Karunanidhi under ESMA (Essential Services Maintenance Act) for "instigating" and speaking in favour of recent strike by government employees.

The case was filed by the central crime branch against Karunanidhi under Section 5 of ESMA, police said.
