Sushma convenes meeting to break RS impasse
Saturday, August 16 2003 10:05 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: In an effort to break the impasse in Rajya Sabha over Opposition boycott on the issue of denial of Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) report to Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is convening a meeting of Congress leaders in the House on August 18.

"I have convened a meeting with Congress leaders Manmohan Singh and Pranab Mukherjee to resolve the issue," Swaraj told reporters.

The Opposition had on August 14 announced boycott of the Rajya Sabha for the remaining period of the current session on the issue of government's refusal to part with CVC report on Kargil arms purchases to the Public Accounts Committee.
