Togadia vows to take revenge for Bihar humiliation

Kolkata: The international general secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Praveen Togadia, on
August 17 came down heavily on Laloo Prasad Yadav and the Bihar government for not allowing him
to 'hoist national flag' on Independence Day and vowed to chalk out a 'strategy' to protest against the
humiliation meted out to him.
"Apart from moving the Supreme Court for violation of right of movement and right to speak, we will chalk
out a detailed strategy to protest against the anti-democratic, anti-national and unethical step taken by
Bihar government," Togadia, who was in the city to participate in a programme to
celebrate 125th birth anniversary of "Sri Maa'', the great French disciple of Aurobindo Ghosh, told
reporters.
He said that the ban order on him and Acharya Giriraj Kishore to enter Bihar was for six months and in
this period the VHP would organise a massive agitational programme.
"We are going to meet tomorrow (August 18) and finalise the detailed agitational programme against the
humiliation," Togadia said, adding, Bihar government's decision was to 'appease Muslim
community'. "Patna's district magistrate had issued the orders under instructions of Laloo Yadav."
"After his lathi rally, I was under the impression that Laloo had become strong, but it appears that after
meeting Musharraf, he is afraid of me and that is why he did not allow me to enter Bihar and hoist
national flag on Independence Day in a school," Togadia said.
"Bihar government accused that I wanted to teach secret lessons to VHP members. Laloo should be
aware that I am under Z category security and it is impossible even to meet my wife secretly," he said.
The VHP's central leader, Surender Jain, said that while the Bihar government on one hand was
welcoming Bangladeshis in the state and was also promising ration cards, it was imposing ban on entry
of leaders like Togadia and Giriraj Kishore on the other.
Asked if the Left Front government in West Bengal was better in the sense that it did not oppose his
entry in Kolkata, Togadia said, "It is not correct to compare Bihar and West Bengal over this because
the communist government in West Bengal too was behaving in an anti-Hindu way."
"They (Left Front) may not have gone to the extent of Laloo, but in West Bengal too Hindus are being
discriminated against,'' he said.
On Sonia Gandhi, the VHP leader said, "We will never allow a foreigner to become Prime Minister of the
country."
Justifying the VHP's role to celebrate birth anniversary of ''Sri Maa'', who was born in France, Togadia
said, "Sri Maa did not want to rule the country."
To a query, he said, "We have terms of reference to support any political party which will support us on
Hindutva defined by three main principals of Ram Temple, Ramrajya and Akhand Bharat, Article 370,
Common Civil Code and Goraksha. It could be even Congress, but without Sonia Gandhi."
