Seven injured in a bomb blast in Kanpur

Kanpur: Seven persons, including five members of a family, were injured on August 22 in a powerful bomb blast in Colonelganj police circle in Kanpur, police said.

Police said some hand-made country bombs kept in the house of Sayeed, an alleged criminal in Bakarganj locality, exploded injuring seven inmates of the house, including two tenants.

Police said Sayeed and his two brothers were also involved in various crimes, including robberies.

The injured were rushed to a local government hospital from where six persons were discharged after first aid. The condition of a teenaged girl is stated to be serious.

No arrest has so far been made in this connection, police added.
