Ayodhya: A bomb exploded inside a temple near the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid site in Ayodhya on August 22 night damaging its roof and side walls, police said.

However, no casualties were reported in the explosion inside the Nishad temple in Katra locality at around midnight, they said.

The temple is situated not far from the acquired land, they said.

Senior civil and police officials, including district magistrate Deepak Kumar and senior superintendent of police (SSP) Prabhat Kumar visited the site and a first information report (FIR) has been lodged.

No arrests have been made so far in this connection, they said.
