Mumbai HC lifts stay on medical, engineering admissions
Saturday, August 23 2003 18:01 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: In a significant order, the Mumbai High Court on August 23 lifted its stay on admissions to the medical and engineering courses in government and private colleges across Maharashtra and instructed the authorities to immediately start the admission process.

Disposing of a bunch of petitions challenging the admission process, the Bench headed by Justice Dhananjay Chandrachud ruled that the admissions to medical courses will be based on Maharashtra Central Entrance Test (CET).

For engineering course, the admissions will be on the basis of the merit list for government as well as management quota, the court ruled.
