Ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh for rail mishap victims' kin

New Delhi: Union Railway Minister Nitish Kumar on August 23 night announced ex-gratia payment of Rs one lakh to the next of kin of those killed in the railway accident in West Delhi involving a Rohtak-bound passenger train.

A Northern Railway (NR) release said those seriously injured will be paid Rs 15,000 each, while those with minor injuries will get Rs 5,000 each.

Meanwhile, NR has cancelled, diverted or re-scheduled some trains in view of the accident.
