Film and television actor Ajit Vachani passes away

Mumbai: Film and television artist Ajit Vachani passed away at a private hospital in Mumbai on August 25 following a prolonged illness. He was 52.

Vachani was in critical condition since a long time and the end came on August 25 morning, family sources said.

He had acted in more than 50 Hindi films and three Sindhi films. He had also acted in Gujarati and Marathi dramas.

Vachani acted in several television serials. His latest one was "Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka" which had 1,000 episodes in Gujarati, Hindi and Marathi, the sources said.

Right from school days, Vachani took keen interest in stage plays. He entered the film industry 27 years ago and mostly played the role of character artist.

Vachani is survived by wife and two daughters, the sources added.
