Oppn to meet Governor demanding President's rule

Mumbai: Giving a political twist to the August 25 twin blasts in the city, Opposition leaders in Maharashtra would on August 26 meet the Governor Mohd Fazal to demand imposition of President's Rule in the state following a series of bomb blasts in recent months.

The leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly Narayan Rane (Shiv Sena), leader of Opposition in the legislative council Nitin Gadkari (Bharatiya Janata Party), BJP city president Vijay Girkar and local MP Kirit Somaiyya (BJP) would be meeting the governor at 11.00 hours (IST), former city BJP president Vinod Tawade said.

In all 50 persons were killed and 139 others injured in two car-bomb explosions at Gateway of India and Dhanji Street in South Mumbai on August 25.
