Maharashtra CM convenes disaster management plan meet

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde has on August 26 convened a high-level
meeting of top officials from police, navy, municipal corporation, fire brigade and health departments to
chalk out the disaster management plan and evolve stern security measures in the wake of twin blasts in
the city on August 25.
According to official sources, the meeting would be held at Mantralaya on August 26 afternoon.
Shinde has also convened a meeting of Citizens' Forum at Mantralaya on August 27 to infuse
confidence among people that the government would tackle terrorism with a firm hand.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani and Congress president Sonia Gandhi would visit the
metropolis later in on August 26 to tour the areas hit by explosions on August 25 and condole the death
of victims, official sources said.
Advani would visit blast hit places and hospitals where injured have been admitted, Bharatiya Janata
Party (BJP) sources said.
He would then leave for Aurangabad to participate in the concluding session of the two-day state-level
party meet.
Sonia is expected to arrive in Mumbai by 15.00 hours (IST) and is scheduled to visit Mumbadevi area,
site of one of the explosions, Congress sources said.
She is also slated to meet Shinde at 19.00 hours (IST) at his official residence `Varsha' and would return
to Delhi.
