Wednesday, August 27 2003 14:47 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: The Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance on August 27 staged a silent protest march in memory of the victims of the twin blasts that rocked Mumbai on August 25 killing 52 people and injuring over 100.

The party workers, with black ribbons tied around their mouth, began the march from Gateway of India to Mantralaya.

They were carrying saffrons flags and placards condemning the Democratic Front government for its alleged failure in maintaining the law and order in the state.

Prominent Shiv Sena leaders including executive president Uddhav Thackeray and state BJP president Gopinath Munde took part in the march.
