Reason for US plunging into language of common thug?

Why is US plunging into language of common thug?

My best guess would be one, or more, of the following:

1) The domestic political pressure to limit petrol prices, at the pump, to a maximum of say, USD $ 2.00 to $ 2.50 per US gallon. This is about a third to half of what the rest of the world pays.

(2) The failure to apprehend Osama bin Laden. Reprising Italy's performance in Ethiopia, during 1937, by invading and occupying Iraq, is one way of covering-up the aforementioned failure.

(3) Historically, a President, of either party, will enjoy a "pumped-up" popularity during the initial months of almost any war.

(4) Money that was supposed to pay for the cost of prescription drugs for pensioners has been squandered on the cost of waging war on Iraq. The Bush administration must eventually "confess" this point to these pensioners--people who also form a powerful voting bloc. To compensate for alienating the pensioners the administration must try to "milk" as much popularity out of the Iraqi war as possible.

The invasion of Afghanistan, in my judgment WAS appropriate. In my view that operation was a law enforcement action.

Afghanistan was harbouring a man, against whom there is substantial evidence that he lead the conspiracy responsible for the attacks of 11 Sept 2001 in New York City.

As you know the deaths resulting from these attacks numbered in the thousands and exceeded number of deaths caused by Japan's attack on Hawaii in 1941.

The World Trade Centre was NOT a "military" or other "strategic" target. The amount of office space taken by US military and US government was negligible. The twin towers housed a number of foreign firms in addition to a large number businesses engaged in finance, shipping, and law firms. The only major governmental presence was that of the State of New York.

As one can imagine, the US presence in Iraq WILL come to an end--but not soon. I was in my twenties during America's participation in the Vietnam War. When coffins, at the rate of a dozen a day, began appearing on the nightly television news programmes, the American people began to question the legitimacy of that war. Even then, American troops stayed in Vietnam for another three years.

Hence, when Iraq finds an ally--God forbid the entire Arab League decides to go to war against the US-- and the "body count" increases dramatically, THEN you will see the beginning of the end of this moment of questionable glory in American history.

Given the problems the US has had with Islamic groups lately, I am surprised why our government does not, either secretly or openly, offer to assist India in recovering disputed territory in Kashmir in return for assistance in installing a Pakistani government that is both stable and restrained in its policy toward India.

The current Pakistani government, while friendly toward the US, appears on the verge of being overthrown at any moment. If I lived in India I would be scared to death wondering who, in Pakistan, has access to the nuclear missile launch controls.

Please forgive my "long-windedness". It was a pleasure communicating with you. I look forward to visiting your site often.
