Landmine blast triggered by naxalites kills 5 cops

Nagpur: Five policemen were killed and two injured in a land mine blast, triggered by a group of naxalites in Tadgaon in Bhamragar, police said on August 29.

The policemen were travelling in a jeep during patrolling in forest when the blast occurred, they said.

The identity of the policemen has not been ascertained as yet.

Top police officials including superintendent of police (SP) Gadchiroli and inspector general (IG) police, Nagpur Range, have rush to the spot, police said.
