'CFL report on Colas to be made public on Aug 30'
Friday, August 29 2003 20:10 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Government will make public on August 30 the report of the Kolkata-based Central Food Laboratory (CFE), on the basis of which the Health Minister had made a statement in Parliament last week on the pesticide levels in soft drinks.

"We can release both the reports. The results are the same," Health and Family Welfare Minister Sushma Swaraj told reporters when she was asked about CFL's report.

The report of the CFTRI was released on August 28.

Union Health Secretary J V R Prasada Rao said the Kolkata lab's report would be released on August 30.

Refusing to take further questions, Swaraj said that the issue is before the Joint Parliamentary Committee and the judiciary. It was not right to comment on the issue outside the two fora.

"There is some propriety. I will maintain that propriety," she said.
