3 detained in connection with Mumbai twin blasts

Mumbai: Police has detained three persons including a woman in connection with blast at the Gateway of India on August 25.

They were picked up for questioning from a suburb on August 30 night, police sources said on August 31.

The sources, however, clarified that the suspects had been detained but had not been arrested so far. Only if the police obtained substantial material against them they would be arrested, the sources said, adding that interrogations were on.

Altogether 52 persons were killed and many others injured when two powerful bombs exploded in taxis at Gateway of India and Mumbadevi areas on August 25.
