SP confident of numbers; legislators pouring-in
Sunday, August 31 2003 13:25 Hrs (IST)

Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party (SP) on August 31 expressed confidence that Mulayam Singh Yadav-led government in Uttar Pradesh would be able to prove its majority on the floor of the House with the numbers of the legislators coming out in support of the coalition continued to swell.

The SP-led coalition government would not only prove its majority in the state assembly but also take positive steps for bringing back on rails law and order and economic development of the state, it said here.

The party said the Mulayam regime would also work for ending the gundaraj (notorious rule), which were unleashed by the Mayawati government against the politicians and common people who had invited her wrath for opposing policies of her government.
