Madhavan Nair takes over as ISRO Chairman

Bangalore: Distinguished scientist G Madhavan Nair on September 1 assumed additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Space and related positions of Chairman, Space Commission, and Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

The move comes consequent to K Kasturirangan's nomination to the Rajya Sabha, Bangalore-based ISRO said in a statement.

Nair, also a Space Commission member, was currently holding the post of Director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram, the release said.
