Fierce gun battle between security forces & ultras

Jammu: Security forces were engaged in a fierce gun battle with militants that broke out on September 2 in Ghati area of Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The encounter began around 3.30 pm (IST) after police launched an operation to flush out at least seven militants believed to be hiding there, police sources said.

They said the militants were believed to have infiltrated on September 1 night from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and police received information about their presence in the area.
