It's a 'BAD Quiz' for a good cause!

Bangalore: Pradeep was the winner of the Rural IT Quiz 2002 from amongst 48,000 participants, organised by TATA Consultancy Services and the Department of Information Technology, government of Karnataka. Pradeep, who hails from Tumkur, met with a near fatal accident in January 2003. Pradeep was in coma for nearly four months and with concentrated efforts from his doctors, is showing good progress and should be able to walk soon.

Quizmaster Pickbrain and his team are organising a BAD Quiz (Business and Advertising Quiz) on September 13, 2003 at Guru Nanak Bhavan, Bangalore. The entire proceeds from the quiz will go to Pradeep and his family.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Asia's largest software services and IT consulting company is the principle supporter of the quiz. Says N G Subramaniam, vice president and head of TCS Bangalore operations, "It was unfortunate to hear about Pradeep's near fatal accident. He was the winner of the state wide Rural IT Quiz organised by TCS and the IT department of Karnataka last year (2002). This was no mean achievement as he had stood out from amongst 48,000 students who participated in the quiz. Surely, this young man has a bright future. TCS is happy to be the principal supporter of this quiz for a cause."

Others supporting the quiz include the department for IT & BT, government of Karnataka who is sponsoring the venue for the quiz, SchoolKingdom, an education services company, will handle the logistics while the students of Institute for Technology and Management (ITM), Bangalore have volunteered to promote and manage the event.

The BAD quiz is essentially a business quiz, where any number of teams are welcome to take part, each team would comprise of two members. There would be a common prelim for all teams followed by a final for the top six teams. The winners would get a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and the runner up Rs 10,000.
