Apollo launches 'evening clinic' for office-goers
Friday, January 1 99 02:34 Hrs (IST)

Chennai: Apollo hospitals, Asia's largest healthcare service provider, on September 3 launched country's first ever 'evening clinic', for the busy office-goers, top-notch executives and businessmen, to take care of their health.

The 'five to nine' clinic for the 'nine to five' office-goers would be a 'boon' for them and their family members, as it would offer a comprehensive healthcare solution after their working hours, Preetha Reddy, Managing Director of the Apollo Hospitals, told reporters after launching the clinic.

She said work timings often clashed with doctors' consultation hours, leading to a neglect of nagging health problems and the 'clinic' would be an answer to their problems and lead the way to a healthier living, she said.

The clinic would comprise six different speciality segments, each dealing with geriatics, adolescence problems, backache, breast problems, diabetic issues and aesthetic problems.

"Depending on its success, we have planned to open six more segments, among others, for preventive health, cardiac problems, migraine and master health check-up. This concept will be replicated in other Apollo hospitals in the country, starting with Delhi and Hyderabad," she said.

Mallika Srinivasan, a top woman industrialist and Director of Chennai-based Tractor and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE), launched the 'Evening clinic' on September 3 evening at a function in the Apollo hospitals premises.
