Jammu: Security forces on September 4 repulsed a suicide attack on an Army camp on the outskirts of
Poonch town in Jammu and Kashmir and gunned down two Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants, official
sources said.
A woman was killed and six others, including two Army men, injured in the exchange of fire, the sources
said.
Dressed in military fatigues, two fidayeen members of the LeT fired and lobbed grenades at the guards
at the gate of the Army camp, the sources said.
However, alert guards retaliated the firing and killed one of the militants on the spot, they said.
Quick Reaction Team (QRT) of the Army swung into action and chased the second militant, who
managed to escape in the populated area, they said.
In the firing that ensued between the QRT and the militant, one woman was killed, two jawans including
four children were injured, before the militant was killed, the sources said.
The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Poonch town, they said, adding two AK 47 rifles and
ammunition were recovered from the spot.
A search operation has been launched in the area, they said.
