Five militants killed in unabated violence in JK

Srinagar: Five militants were killed and several security men wounded in unabated violence in Kashmir
Valley where one ultra was nabbed since September 3 evening.
Pro-Pakistan Hizbul Mujahideen militants killed their own colleague Ghulam Nabi Lone alias Abdali for his
involvement in abduction of a girl at village Mathund in Anantnag district last night, a police spokesman
said on September 4.
He said the girl also received injuries in the shoot-out and has been hospitalised.
Two militants were killed in an encounter with police and security forces at Banzoori Nallah near Nachian-
Nagmarg in Bandipora area of Baramulla district, the spokesman said, adding two AK rifles, their eight
magazines, 67 rounds, a wireless set and three hand grenades were recovered from them.
He said a militant identified as Irfan was killed and six Army jawans were injured in an encounter in the
forest area of Kokerwan Panzalla in Baramulla district on September 3.
Another militant was killed in a gunfight with security forces at Inderwan forest in Srinagar. One AK rifle,
one magazine, 12 rounds and four hand grenades were recovered from the slain militant identified as
Ghulam Mohammad Dar of Asham-Sumbal of Baramulla district, he said.
The spokesman said police arrested a militant from Wailoo-Pattan in Srinagar district along with one AK
rifle, five magazines and 50 rounds.
Militants attacked a security bunker at Kotwal Galli in Lal Chowk area of Anantnag last night with a
grenade, which missed the intended target and exploded on the road without
causing any damage, the spokesman said.
