Shares bounce back; SENSEX touches high of 4,322

Mumbai: Shares under the leadership of IT major, Infosys Tech, bounced back with a vengeance at the opening session on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on September 4 due to revival of heavy buying activity and the SENSEX touched a high of 4,322.91 points.

On September 3, a large number of pivotals had met with late profit selling and declined sharply.

However, on September 4 the market opened on an optimistic note and prices continued to rise smartly on increased buying by operators as well as Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) and were quoted higher at the beginning.

Mirroring the market trend, the SENSEX opened firm at 4,276.40 and after eased temporarily to 4,264.99, recovered handsomely and shot up to a high of 4,322.91. Later, it was hovering around 4,325.77, which was smartly higher than the previous close of 4,257.94.

Apart from Infosys Tech, other major gainers in the IT segment were Satyam Comp, NIIT, Hughes Soft, HCL Tech, Wipro and Mastek.
